Yesterday morning for the drive to school, I searched my iPod for songs with "love" in the title. I forwarded through a couple of random selections before settling on this one: I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm.
Otto sat quietly in the back seat, listening, and after about a minute said "This is good, mom."
Like I didn't know.
But that's OK.
He finally (finally!) finished his special project last night. We had to stay home from Scouts for him to get it done, even though we'd been working on it for a couple of weeks. He started out by deciding that he really really wanted to do a slideshow presentation for the smart board in his classroom. It took him a lot longer to finally get his act together for the content of the report itself, and we spent a lot of time sitting at the kitchen table while he learned to add text boxes, arrows, and pictures to his slides and hunted and pecked on the keyboard. He did pretty good overall. I still helped with some pieces, but he did an awful lot of it himself, and the approach (focusing on his name) is all his.
So, without further ado, here's Otto's Heritage Project report:
I wish someone would video his presentation to the class -- I'd like to see if he's able to present this without reading off the screen. :)
Annabel's having her official Valentine's party today, and she was full of happy anticipation when I dropped her off. Candy! Cards! She signed her name to all her Disney Princess cards, and was looking forward to handing them out.
Me, I'm looking forward to the weekend.
