Tuesday was the finale of the summer program at our day care.
The kids were pretty psyched when we arrived and they saw the huge bounce house that was set up in the parking lot.
They partied pretty hard - Bel was exhausted by the end of the day, so tired she had a big meltdown over the fact that Otto didn't want to share his cup of water at bedtime. No other cup of water would do! And the cup in question is the one he likes to keep on his nightstand, at the ready for midnight thirst-quenching. So I understood why he wasn't keen on sharing it. I tucked her into bed and patted her back until she fell asleep, and she was back to her cheerful self the next morning.
Otto's ready to get back to school. He dug out his yearbook from last year and has been poring over it at the breakfast table the past few days. We went through the pics of his class, talking about who will still be in his room and who will be moving up to Middle House (2nd/3rd grade). I printed out the classroom supply list and he's decided we should take Kleenex, markers, and play-dough on the first day. I like how his school does supplies -- they give parents a master list, and everyone brings something off the list to share. So instead of buying a little bit of everything off a long list, we can buy a couple of big packages of just a few things.
To do today:
- Mail a box
- Renew my driver's license (might do this tomorrow instead)
- Buy cat food and make Lilly's annual appointment for shots/checkup
- Clean house and move some laundry through the machines
- Play outside with the kids
