So, the first day of school happened.
Otto started first grade:
Bel started pre-school:
And so far, so good! Well, Bel's had a hard time letting me go in the morning when I drop her off, but this week has gone better. I know she'll adjust eventually, but it's hard when I drop her off and she cries as I wave goodbye. On the up side, this week they've been learning about letter A. Which stands for Annabel, of course, and nothing else. The other night I called her "Bel" and she said "No mom, I'm Annabel." Alrighty then!
We started soccer, too, which is kind of hilarious. Otto enjoys practice so far, and Bel is ready to go with itty bitty little soccer cleats and her own pink soccer ball. They're both excited about their games on Saturday. Hopefully they'll both be up for them. Bel was home with a fever today, and Otto has a chesty cough and sounds like he's smoking a pack a day. Flu season came early to the haus this year. :(
Tomorrow evening is the first Cub Scout meeting, and Jon's pretty psyched. Otto will be too, once he finds out that camping is involved. He told me the other day that he thinks our next camping trip should be five weeks long, which made Jon reminisce about summers at Camp Cheley and begin plotting to send him there.
I'm not ready for away camp yet. But I'm glad 1st grade is going well!
