I went to dress Bel this morning, and her pants didn't fit.
We're not talking jeans. We're talking stretchy stretch pants that fit a couple of weeks ago.
Not anymore!
I had to stop at the Target pharmacy anyway this morning, so I went ahead and grabbed a few pair of simple pants (knit, soft) for her in the next size up.
Not only is she growing, but we're making the last big push to finalize potty training so she can go on to the pre-school room. Accidents happen as part of that process, and more back-up clothes are needed...
Back up clothes and Dora stickers and a potty chart.
Getting Otto on track with the potty routine was such a complete disaster that I've been scared to push Bel at all. I'm sure some other, better, more organized mom would have had her trained a year ago. Yes, books have been written. I've read them all. Maybe I should read them to Bel instead?
Otto told me tonight that on the ride from school to day care this afternoon he and Jake "read some books." I asked if he'd been reading his new LEGO magazine (it came in the mail yesterday) and he said "yeah! And I read it to Jake."
I love to imagine that, the two little guys sitting together on their bus seat, LEGO magazine spread open on their knees, Otto reading out loud to his buddy.
That's exactly what reading is about, after all.
