Well, I think I'm better. Slightly less stressed, or better able to handle it. The weekend was recovery time. We read and slept and watched old movies while it rained. Jon went home with another load of stuff - the iron and ironing board, more clothes, ideas and supplies for supper this week. Jake promptly buried his fuzzy star under Jon's pillow. Was he trying to say something, like that he misses Jon? Or "this pillow is mine now!" Probably the latter, knowing my dog. He probably laughed while doing it.
We had an owner meeting this morning at work. Basically we sit around with the project manager from Cullen, our guy from PRA, and the rest of our building committee and talk about how the project is going. Renovations seem to be moving along pretty good. I haven't been up there much - it's all such a mess, I think I'll wait until they're closing up walls instead of taking them down. I really should take pictures, though.
I realized this morning that I haven't had any mail for about 3 days, so I called Jon - he already put in a change of address form, and they've started sending it to the apartment. That means I can't do bills! (so sad) It was cold and snowing in Detroit this morning and Jon said he wasn't sure if he wanted to live somplace with snow in May. I say, too late! I also say, go check the mail!
I am going to attempt mowing the lawn tonight. I hate lawnmowers. Maybe it has something to do with my 10th grade algebra teacher Mr. Rasmussen, who enjoyed pointing to the chalkboard with the mutilated fingers of his left hand - lost, rumor has it, to a lawnmower one sunny summer day. I also just hate the noise. But I will try for the sake of our nice neighbors, who are all much more interested in a neat yard than Jon or me. We could live on the prairie in a sod house and never wish for a mower.
Jon finally reached Jamie last night - Jamie was at dinner, said he'd call him back then never did. Maybe we'll get the scoop tonight, although I wouldn't bet on it. They'll probably discuss arcane military history or new sci fi authors or first-person video games. Then again... maybe not. We shall see.
